Universal Music Group Opens Office in Israel

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) World’s largest production music firm, today announced the launch of its Israel division, UMPG Israel, with the office open effective immediately.

UMPG Israel is focused on technology opportunities, local singing, songwriters’ talents, developing Israeli music creators, and commercial partnerships.

UMG, the parent company of UMPG, created a new recorded music division in Israel in June 2020 and becomes the only major music publishing firm to establish a presence in Israel.

Headquartered in Los Angeles with 52 offices in 42 countries, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) is a market leader in the music publishing industry.

UMPG represents some of the world’s most influential songwriters and artists such as ABBA, Adele, Alabama Shakes, Alex Da Kid, Beach Boys, Beastie Boys, Bee Gees, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Bob Dylan, Billie Eilish, Danny Elfman, Eminem, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, just to name a few.

The company operates several international production music labels, including Abbey Road Masters, Atmosphere Music, New York Beats, Audio Wax, Sonic Beat Records, ICON Trailer Music, Vitamin A Chronic Trax, Killer Tracks, and Network Music.

Itamar Shafrir, a 20-year veteran of the music industry, has been appointed General Manager at UMPG Israel. He reports to Simon Baker, GM of UMPG Europe Publishing, and Michael Sammis, President of Universal Production Music globally. Along with his work in various music jobs in New York, Tel Aviv, and London, Shafrir spent 12 years in cinema and television leadership positions at UMG subsidiary Havas London.
