A hiker mom with her baby ran into Hillary Clinton walking her dog in the woods in Chappaqua, northern Westchester County, New York, after the result of the US election.
It is the first time the first woman to run for president in 2016 Democratic nominee has been seen since she conceded the race to Donald Trump early Wednesday. “She was seemingly at peace and in grace, ” the mom, Margot Gerster who was hiking with her daughter, 13-month-old Phoebe, and their dog, Piper, said Thursday.
The photo which was snapped by former President Bill Clinton, who was there as well, was posted on Gerstner facebook. People was happy to see her smiling.
“We were the only ones there and it was so beautiful and relaxing. As we were leaving, I heard a bit of rustling coming towards me and as I stepped into the clearing there she was, Hillary Clinton and Bill with their dogs doing exactly the same thing as I was.
“I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my most proudest moments as a mother was taking Phoebe with me to vote for her.
“She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk. Now, I’m not one for signs but I think i will definitely take this one. So proud.”
