Heeeeeeere’s Donny! Ad man in new show


Donny Deutsch isn’t so macho that he can’t poke a little fun at himself. In his new USA scripted comedy, Donny!, the advertising bigwig and former host of CNBC’s The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch is exaggerating his image as the hyperbolic, superfit, cocky guy that he is a la Curb Your Enthusiasm and its ilk.

“Don’t watch Donny! because it might make you laugh, ” writes a recent New York Times review of the show airing at 10:30 p.m. Tuesdays. “Then you’ll hate yourself for liking a sitcom that stars an advertising executive, and a moderately annoying one at that.”

We got to speak to Deutsch while the media mogul was in town last month for a financial conference, and OK, he was moderately amusing.
