harvard-courses1

Universities in the United States are getting wealthier and wealthier. A report from Moody’s Investors Service measuring the total wealth of 500 public and private institutions in cash and investments found that the country’s top ten richest universities held a third of the total wealth.

The gap between the richest universities and the rest of the pack is widening, with leading schools attracting a steady stream of investments, alongside generous donations. The top three names on the academic wealth list should come as little surprise. Harvard is in first place with $42.8 billion with Stanford coming second with $31.6 billion. Yale rounds off the top three with $25.4 billion.
