Israeli-American developer Michael Shvo is one of the people considering picking up the three side by side townhouses located from 12-16 East 62nd Street in Manhattan that the Safra Family is selling for a total $120 million, the NY Post reported.
The homes, being sold as a package, line up with one another and are constructed in the same style so that they could be combined into one really big mega mansion. They are located just one block away from the Edmond J. Safra Orthodox Sephardic synagogue, which was named for the family’s late patriarch who died in 1999.
Together the homes have 30, 000 square feet of space, but could be broken up into as many as 13 different apartments. There are 2 roof decks, 11 terraces and 23 fire places.
Sabrina Saltiel of Douglas Elliman has the listing. She told the Daily News, “Anytime would be the right time to list this home. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to own 73 feet of frontage between Fifth and Madison Aves.”
The New York Post reports that the Safras are moving due to concerns about their privacy. It quoted one anonymous source saying, “They are super freaked out about privacy.”
