Jeff Robinov Signs First-Look Deal With LBI

13th Annual AFI Awards - Red Carpet

LBI Entertainment has signed a first-look deal with Jeff Robinov‘s Studio 8. Robinov, who was former studio head for Warner Bros., is building up the first round of projects and began with $1 billion in funding raised by Sony and the Fosun group. The target is to make 6 films a year for studio 8, and Robinov should work well with LBI Entertainment’s Rick and Julie Yorn. LBI’s recent hits include The Other Woman, We Bought a Zoo and Unstoppable, directed by the late Tony Scott. The Yorns have recently made an agreement with John Lesher, who produced Birdman, to also produce films for their company.

Robinov told Deadline Hollywood, “I’ve worked with Rick for over 20 years and have known Julie and John for almost as long. Through their management company and films, you can see Rick and Julie’s incredible taste in talent and material and you can say the same for John through the wonderful directors he has represented and the movies he has produced. We are really excited to start working with LBI and are proud they are calling Studio 8 home.”
