Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer Divorcing After Nine Years

Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire and his wife of nine years Jennifer Meyer are getting a divorce. Meyer is the daughter of CAA co-founder and current NBC-Universal co-chairman Ronald Meyer.

Tobey Macguire is 41 and Jennifer Meyer is 39. They have two children, a daughter named Ruby age nine and a son named Otis age seven. They were married in 2007 after first meeting in 2003 when Maguire was filming the movie Seabiscuit which was produced by Universal Studios.

Jennifer Meyer is the step-daughter of a rabbi and she runs her own jewelry company.

He and Meyer were very publicly having problems for some time. Maguire has been seen out clubbing with infamous womanizer Leonardo DiCaprio. And The New York Post quoted one insider as saying, “Tobey was out in LA at all these hot spots . . . It looked like he was following in [supermodel maven] Leo’s footsteps . . . Tobey hasn’t been known to date those types of girls in the past. But he has been all over LA lately. It looks like Leo’s rubbed off on him.”

The couple released a joint statement which was quoted in People Magazine saying, “After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple. As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.”
