Ashton Kutcher is behind the launch of A+ a “social-driven technology platform, ” according to PR Newswire. Since Kutcher surpassed CNN for most followers on Twitter in 2009, he seems to have the magic touch when it comes to page views. After its 9 month soft launch A+ has become a top 50 website and top 11 mobile site in the US, with 50 million unique monthly visitors and 100 million page views per month.

Kabbala enthusiast Ahston Kutcher teamed up with Evan Beard and Kendall Dabaghi to develop A+, which focuses on social media as a major means of media consumption. The project started in Kutcher’s living room as “an experiment of combining technology with the power of social media to drive additional views of impactful, socially relevant  and sometimes just light-hearted stories throughout the world, ” said Kutcher, who is chairman of the board for A+.

Creators of content that garners the highest number of views get more exposure, and many of the self-generated content attracts lively discussion. The original content can take the form of articles, lists, trivia and personality quizzes. Kendall Dabaghi said, “We’re the first company to give users equal access to the same tools used internally by leading media companies to create and optimize content, which further differentiates us from existing media sites.”
