US-ENTERTAINMENT-MEDIA-WHCA-DINNER-FILES

Barbra Walters retired earlier this year, but not really. ABC has announced that the 85 year old icon will return for one more of her annual Most Fascinating People specials in which she will interview stars like Scarlett Johansson and Oprah Winfrey.

There is no word yet on whether Johansson will use the opportunity to present her new baby to the world.

The new special is set to air on December 14th, from 9 to 11 PM Eastern Standard Time. During the broadcast,  Walters’ pick for the most fascinating celebrity of the year will be revealed.

While the full list of celebrities to be included in the “Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014″ special has yet to be announced by the network, it includes Chelsea Handler and Neil Patrick Harris.

“I was absolutely delighted when ABC approached me to do another year of 10 Most Fascinating People, ” said Walters in a statement. “I know we said last year was our last, but there are just too many fascinating people out there…and you never pass up the opportunity to interview Oprah, Neil, Chelsea or Scarlett.”

ABC stated about the special, “Since its first airing in 1993, ‘Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People’ has consistently been one of the highest rated specials of the year. Last year it dominated its 90 minute time period with Total Viewers and all key Adult demos, and drew its largest overall audience in three years.”

Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014 will be executive produced by Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie. Geddie will also direct the program.
