Sara Netanyahu is the most powerful woman in Israel

The magazine, Forbes Israel has crowned Sara Netanyahu, wife of the Prime Minister as the most powerful and influential woman in Israel, out of 50 influential women who were chosen.

On of her former intimates compared her In his words, “a personality with energetic power greatly focused within the system and capable of changing and influencing and new facts in the Israeli political world with tremendous power. Sometimes it isn’t possible to see or identify the source of her power.”

The influence of Sara Netanyahu comes mainly from her involvement with many of the appointments that the Prime Minister makes.  According to many sources interviewed by Forbes her involvement in appointments does not stop at the office of the Prime Minister but also in significant positions serving the country.  “She is involved in all level”, said one of the sources, “senior as well as ordinary.”

Sara beat out the CEO of Bank Leumi, Rakefet Russak-Aminach, who finished in second place in the ranking and the richest woman in Israel, Shari Arison who holds the controlling interest in “Arison Investments.”

Winner of the Dan David prize for 2013 has received in appointment from the President of the US

Barak Obama has nominated the winner of the Dan David prize for 2013, the senior French economist, Professor Esther Duflo (39) to be a member of the President’ Global Development Council.

Duflo deals with social and economic strategies to eliminate poverty, and their direct effect on preventing sickness and death.  Duflo discovered that in certain third world countries air pollution in the home caused by the use of primitive fuels for cooking purposes is the cause of about 4% of all premature death and disability. This is a situation that can be prevented.

Duflo is one of five winners of the prestigious Dan David prize named for the Jewish businessman-philanthropist Dan David and it is an international prize awarded in Israel similar to the Nobel Prize.  The prize fund is endowed with $100 million and its winners are categorized by time: past, present and future.  For each period the award is $1 million for the winner.

The winers  donate  10% of their awarders to encourage  young researchers studying for their doctorates and post-doctorates in Israel and the world.

Two Million dollars were raised at an Israeli-American Council (IAC) fundraising event

Two million dollars were raised for the benefit of the Israeli people in LA,  at an Israeli American Council (IAC) fundraising event  in Los Angeles that was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and which was attended by billionaires Shari Arison , Miriam and Sheldon Adelson and, General (res.) Danny Gold., the person responsible for developing the iron dome defense system

The largest contributors at the gala evening were Miriam and Sheldon Adelson who contributed 250 thousand dollars., and Debby and Naty Seidoff  who also contributed 250 thousand dollars . Gila and Adam Milstein contributed 200 thousand dollars.

The owner of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Benny Elgam contributed 180 thousand dollars,

Miri and Itzik Shefer contributed 100 thousand dollars, and  Shawn and Dorit Evenhaim contributed 100 thousand dollars .

The chairman and founder of the IAC is Shawn Evenhaim who holds the controlling interest in California Builders one of the leading real estate corporations in Los Angeles and who donated the Jewish school Kadima in LA.  The mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa nominated him to be an advisor on the subject of improving the process of obtaining building permits in the city.
