Zeckendorf to Sell New York’s Most Expensive Apt Ever: $130 Million Triplex Penthouse

Zeckendorf Development Co. is hoping to sell a Manhattan triplex penthouse for $130 million, Bloomberg has reported.

That would make it the most expensive apartment in New York City’s history. The triplex is expected to be completed in 2017 and will be the largest on the Upper East Side.

Located at 520 Park Ave., between East 60th and 61st Streets, the penthouse will have 12, 394 square feet when completed. It will also have a 1, 257 square foot terrace with views of Central Park to the north.

The building will have 31 apartments, including 7 duplexes averaging 9, 138 square feet each and which will sell for process starting at $67 million.

The entryway will feature a newly completed stately entrance marquee, grand double height limestone entrance rotunda with Nordic Gray, a Cold Spring granite floor and a custom ebonized wood concierge desk with granite top

Residents will enjoy the use of comfortable and smartly furnished amenity rooms designed by William T. Georgis Architect, sitting rooms that overlook the courtyard garden and antique fountain, custom wood paneling and hand-finished hardwood herringbone floors, a media center with flat screen television, dark wood paneled library featuring artisan billiard table and a lounge.

There will also be a catering kitchen and a private fitness center, featuring Cybex equipment with personal entertainment monitors.

A private French-style courtyard garden with black tile reflecting pool designed by Town & Gardens, Ltd., featuring gravel walkways, blue stone pavers, park benches and privacy wall of English Ivy adorned with red maple trees, evergreen shrubs, hydrangeas and flowering perennials will be open to all residents.
The residences will have custom finished hardwood floors throughout, herringbone pattern in foyer, dining room and living room, solid hardwood doors with nickel-finished Baldwin hardware and custom plaster hand-finished cove crown moldings

There will also be double-pane, energy efficient windows

The kitchens will feature handcrafted, custom painted English wood cabinetry by Smallbone of Devizes Pietra Cardosa Italian granite countertops and Italian porcelain floors.

The Hallways, designed by William T. Georgis Architect, feature custom wool carpets, coffered ceilings, polished nickel and glass pendant lighting fixtures and furnished elevator landings.

Arthur Zeckendorf told Bloomberg that the new sales for units in the new luxury tower will begin early next year.
