Steakholder Foods Ltd., an Israeli foodtech startup developing a suite of advanced manufacturing technologies to produce cultured meat and fish products and formerly known as MeaTech 3D, has now created a non-traditional fish for eating and the company declares that it will not harm the environment.

The world’s fish populations are diminishing because of over consumption. The loss of the fish also leads to the loss of other sea life that prey on those fish and so forth. Also, the fishing boats now must go out further and further into oceans to fish and this pollutes the oceans even more.

And farmed fish is no better for the environment. A great deal of energy gets used up by fish farming around the world, contributing to the problems of global climate change. And the farms create a great deal of waste that further pollutes the environment. This is why a company like Steakholder Foods is so important.

And Steakholder Foods is not alone in this field. Israel Startup Nation is filled with new firms that produce alternatives to animal based food products like fish, meat and dairy. For example, Meala FoodTech, another Israeli startup, developed a proprietary technology that uses natural processes to create a meaty texture and juiciness mimicking the animal-based origin. Also, Pigmentum is an Israeli startup that develops non-dairy alternatives from lettuce.

Founded in 2019 by CEO Arik Kaufman, Steakholder Foods Ltd., formerly MeaTech 3D ($MITC), is on a mission to make real meat sustainable and slaughter free. With proprietary 3D bioprinting technology and advanced cellular biology, the company is developing whole-cut, ground and hybrid products that will allow people to continue enjoying tender, juicy meat while making the right choice for the planet and all its inhabitants. Join our new community of meat lovers and help us write the next chapter in the story of meat.

As a member of the UN Global Compact, the company is committed to issues embodied in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which include food security, reducing carbon footprint, water conservation and the preservation of ecosystems.

The company boasts that its 3D printers are state-of-the-art technology designed to produce cultivated meat products that mimic the texture, taste, and appearance of conventional meat. The Company is developing two types of printer platforms. Their flagship product, the RTC printer, produces a hybrid cultivated meat product made from a mixture of cultivated and plant-based ingredients.

Arik Kaufman said, “By offering 3D printing production methodologies to B2B clients, Steakholder Foods has the opportunity to become a backbone supplier that enables the production of products that consumers seek and expect. Our 3D bio-printing technology and customized bio-inks reflect our commitment to revolutionizing the food industry.”
