Yair Netanyahu, a 31 year old unemployed man who never held a job and lives with his parents is probably best known for mouthing off on social media against anyone who opposes his father’s policies has been given a gag order by his own parents. The son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been sent to his room by mommy and daddy who are none too happy with his negative social media posts that border on slander.

According to a report in Israel’s Walla News, Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara told their youngest son Yair Netanyahu to cool it with his harsh Tweets as they have recently caused the Netanyahu more headaches than they did any good for the family.

Walla cited three unnamed sources that it called “reliable” and “close” to the family that the Prime Minister and wife told Yair Netanyahu “he was causing harm and asked him to ‘calm down’ and take down his profile. The web site added that this demand caused “a severe family conflict” that sources described as an “explosion.”

The younger Netanyahu has now reportedly left for the United States where he is expected to stay for a few months.

Yair Netanyahu might not have a job because he must devote all his time to social media posts. Most of his Twitter feed is taken up with reposts. But the younger Netanyahu also regularly posts attacks on his father Benjamin Netanyahu’s political enemies and the media in general. He also likes to make baseless claims that the judicial system is biased against his father and that the criminal charges levelled against them have no merit and are purely political in nature.

Just last month Yair Netanyahu lost a libel suit filed by former Labor Party MK Stav Shaffir. Shaffir alleged that Netanyahu defamed her with his Twitter posts and Netanyahu counter-sued for the same reason. But in the end, Yair was forced to cough up about $20,000 in court costs, legal fees for Shaffir and damages. Since he has no source of income of his own mommy and daddy will probably have to pay the money for him. Maybe that’s why they ordered Yair off of Twitter.
