Anheuser-Busch AB InBev, the world’s largest brewery and maker of America’s iconic Budweiser Beer, TAU Ventures, Tel Aviv University’s VC, and the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) are collaborating on a new brewery or incubator for “innovative, Israeli start-ups that possess strong, multi-use technologies that have the potential to address some of AB InBev’s current and future business challenges.”

The program has two main aims: To pilot use-case ready solutions; To produce new solutions for real business needs, based on your proprietary technology. Ultimately, emphasis will be placed on the strength of your core technology, and its ability to serve the challenges specified below, rather than the existing use case you are currently targeting.

The program was created by TAU Ventures, which will operate an in-depth program, designed to instigate and nurture each of the projects toward success. The selected cohort of companies will receive curated business support from TAU Ventures global ecosystem, including industry experts and top tier service providers, alongside free office space at TAU Ventures offices in Tel Aviv.

The Israel Innovation Authority can support R&D performing companies, registered and operating in Israel, with a grant of up to 50% of the approved R&D / Pilot Expenses Budget, according to its regulations and procedures. The IIA supported activities may include R&D, piloting, testing, validation, trials, performance verification, device iteration, product and interface customization, pre-pilot activities and more.

Chief Innovation Scientist and Chairman of the Israel Innovation Authority Dr. Ami Appelbaum said, “This joint collaboration provides Israeli companies with an important opportunity to engage in finding technological solutions and in prominent sectors such as AgTech, and water management as well as to challenges faced in the verticals of supply chain, procurement, and operations. Moreover, this program also offers an opportunity for Israeli companies with solutions to these pain points to validate their offering and gain practical experience.”

TAU has played a key role in Israel’s rise as a tech hotbed and world leader in research across all faculties. It is Israel’s largest university and boasts the best alumni entrepreneurial record among universities outside the United States.
TAU Ventures is open to all students and alumni from Tel Aviv University.

TAU is recognized and celebrated internationally for creating an innovative, entrepreneurial culture on campus that generates inventions, startups and economic development in Israel. TAU is ranked ninth in the world, and first in Israel, for producing startup founders of billion-dollar companies, an achievement that surpassed several Ivy League universities.

Nimrod Cohen, Founder & Managing Partner, TAU Ventures, said, “As a fund that invests in early-stage ventures, a central part of our agenda is to promote close work with the industry, enabling market validation very early on, and the development of products together with prospective clients. The ReCombinate program helps us realize this vision, representing a remarkable opportunity for Israeli startups to work with one of the biggest companies in their domain.”

Anheuser-Busch AB InBev will provide the required matching to the IIA’s grant, in the form of in-kind services, expertise, and use of facilities. Examples for such in-kind support can include: Usage facilities for beta-sites operations, expertise, or equipment, access to unique data, engines, devices and skills. Experts’ and consultants’ time to guide, co-develop and, identify the parameters of the product/technology for testing or potential use cases. Assistance in co-commercializing the product.

Anheuser-Busch AB-InBev is the world’s largest beer brewer by both volume and revenue, operating more than 600 beer brands in 150 countries, including Budweiser, Stella Artois, Beck’s, and Corona.
