Kate Hudson, the daughter of legendary Oscar winning actress Goldie Hawn, is not letting the claims about being a ‘Nepo Baby” let her down. The step-daughter of famed film star Ken Russel was recently listed among a number of actors (Laura Dern, Jamie Lee Curtis, Gwyneth Paltrow and more) whose careers only got off to a head start because their parents were themselves, famous actors and producers.

Now 43, Kate Hudson had her break out in 2000 with the hit movie “Almost Famous,” which earned her an Oscar nomination for playing the groupie Penny Lane. Now Hudson responded to New York Magazine naming 2022 as “The Year of the Nepo Baby” in an interview with The Independent.

“The nepotism thing, I mean… I don’t really care,” Kate Hudson said. “I look at my kids and we’re a storytelling family. It’s definitely in our blood,” she added. “People can call it whatever they want, but it’s not going to change it.”

“That’s me in life. Just feeling everything,” she added. “When I was younger, that part of me didn’t have as much control. I didn’t understand it. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned how to manage that kind of rawness. But I still love feeling that way. That’s why I’m an actor! I mean, come on…”

Kate Hudson can currently be seen playing the dim witted and clueless celebrity Birdie Jay in the new Daniel Craig movie “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.” In it Craig reprises his role as detective Benoit Blanc from the 2019 surprise hit film “Knives Out.” Some might say that Hudson’s role is an example of life imitating art.

This is because Kate Hudson’s character is portrayed as living in a bubble surrounded by her friends and other celebrities while she is supposedly living in social isolation during the Covid pandemic. This is just like how all the rich and famous self-quarantined in their mansions in places like the Hamptons and called on the rest of us to do the same while sharing pictures of themselves lounging by their pools on social media.
