Jewish Billionaire Robert Kraft – the owner of the NFL’s New England Patriots franchise – is backing a new campaign to combat anti-Semitism. The campaign is being run by his Foundation to Combat Anti-Semitism and it began over the weekend by releasing a 30-second ad during NFL games on Sunday.

The new campaign comes at a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise in America. Incidents of attacks on Jews – both verbally and physically, both online and in person – skyrocketed after Donald Trump took office. The most famous incident of this was a march of white supremacists where they chanted, “Jews will not replace use,” whatever that meant. Ironically, Robert Kraft was a big supporter of Donald Trump.

The television commercial was just text – no images or narration.

The ad said, “Antisemitism is hate. Hate against Jews. For being Jewish. Recently many of you have spoken up. We hear you today. We must hear you tomorrow.”

It ended with the comment, “There are less than 8 million Jewish people in this country. Fewer than are watching this game. They need you to add your voice.” After this the hashtag #StandUpToJewishHate flashed on the screen.

Robert Kraft’s Foundation to Combat Anti-Semitism catalyzes dynamic new solutions to stop the age-old hatred advanced by those who seek the elimination of Judaism and the Jewish people and the modern movement to destroy the world’s only Jewish State. The foundation focuses on positively impacting the attitudes of young people around the world, leveraging social media to deliver educational campaigns and spur action by people of all backgrounds. Working with a network of global partners, the foundation helps drive effective rapid response to hate as well as proactive campaigns that galvanize popular support for Jews and the Jewish State. The foundation’s vision is a world where people of conscience unite to end anti-Semitism once and for all. By effectively combatting the rise of anti-Semitism, notably online and through social media, the long-term goals of the foundation include creating a replicable model for fighting other forms of prejudice, racism, and hate crimes.
