According to Opensecrets.org, FTX.US was one of the top contributors to Biden’s presidential campaign in the 2020 election cycle.
So far, the organization has spent $19 million to influence election primaries, all of which were Democratic House contests. The organization’s largest contribution was $10.5 million to support Carrick Flynn in the 6th congressional district of Oregon.
Bankman-Fried is a member of a philosophical movement known as Effective Altruism, which consists of a network of scholars and philanthropists devoted to tackling the greatest risks to the future of humanity, such as pandemics, climate change, and nuclear weapons.
