Riverside.fm Raises $35 Million for Remote Recording

Riverside

Seamless video podcast distribution from Riverside to Spotify through Anchor

Riverside.fm, an Israeli startup that offers a platform for remote recording, raised $35 million in a Series B financing round led by Oren Zeev. Zeev is an investor who has backed companies like Houzz, Audible, Chegg, TripActions, Tipalti, Next Insurance, Sunbit, Homelight, Domestika, Uber Freight, FireBolt, Veev and others. He is usually the main early investor and an active board member.

This latest round of funding brings the total investment in Riverside.fm to $47 million to date.

Founded in 2020 by brothers Gideon (CTO) and Nadav (CEO) Keyson, Riverside.fm calls itself the leading remote recording platform that “makes professional video creation achievable by anyone, anywhere on desktop or mobile.” The company helps creators and companies – including Guy Raz, Verizon Media, Marvel, and The New York Times – to record studio-quality interviews from anywhere, with no loss in recording quality.

News of the new investment comes just a few days after Riverside.fm sealed the deal on a new collaboration with Spotify’s podcast platform Anchor to make professional video podcast creation accessible to all podcasters on the platform. The partnership is aligned with Spotify’s video podcast release, allowing all podcast creators to publish a video component alongside recorded audio. This new partnership will directly connect creators from Anchor to Riverside, so they can easily record video for podcasts.

With that collaboration, Riverside.fm users can upload their video podcasts to Spotify through Anchor in just a few clicks, introducing the opportunity to reach Spotify’s 406 million monthly active users. In addition, creators will gain access to Anchor’s analytics tools and various monetization options.

“Riverside enables high-quality audio and video podcast creation possible for anyone, anywhere from experienced creators to new beginners,” Nadav Keyson, CEO of Riverside said at the time. “This partnership will push the limits of content creation and distribution by creating a seamless process through the entire flow.”
