Israeli cybersecurity company Cybereason and Google Cloud have formed a joint collaboration to create and bring to market Extended Detection and Response (XDR) across endpoints, networks, cloud and workspaces.

McAfee explains that extended detection and response is a SaaS-based, vendor-specific, security threat detection and incident response tool that natively integrates multiple security products into a cohesive security operations system that unifies all licensed components.

XDR enables an enterprise to go beyond typical detective controls by providing a holistic and yet simpler view of threats across the entire technology landscape. XDR delivers real-time information needed to deliver threats to business operations for better, faster outcomes.

Cybereason explains that properly executing and implementing XDR involves “cutting-edge innovation, the very latest in detection technology, and most importantly the ability to collect and analyze all event telemetry data at scale.”

So, the company says that its new strategic partnership with Google Cloud will bring to market a joint solution in support of our mission to reverse the adversary advantage. This partnership, boasts Cybereason, creates a platform that can “easily ingest and analyze petabyte-scale telemetry across the complete IT and security stack and offers unrivaled speed and accuracy for the prevention of advanced threats against endpoints, networks, containers, application suites, user personas and cloud infrastructure.”

“Google Cloud’s ability to hunt through petabytes of data at the speed of search, combined with Cybereason’s revolutionary correlation capabilities and behavior-based detections delivers unparalleled speed and accuracy in the prevention, detection, and response of advanced attacks,” said Cybereason CEO and co-founder Lior Div. “We founded Cybereason with a mission to reverse the attacker’s advantage and return the high ground to the defender, and we are excited to have Google Cloud partner with us in furthering the success of this mission.”

In other Cybereason news, the company also announced a partnership with Aon. The two firms will work together to help protect clients from sophisticated cyber attacks.

Aon’s Cyber Solutions offers holistic cyber security, risk and insurance management, investigative skills, and proprietary technologies to help clients uncover and quantify cyber risks, protect critical assets, and recover from cyber incidents.
