Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle have resurrected their Castle Rock production company as part of a new deal with Warner Brothers Television. The company was named for the small town in his first feature film “Stand By Me” which was based on a Steven King Story.

The classic film is joined by When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men, In the Line of Fire, City Slickers, Miss Congeniality, The Shawshank Redemption, Misery and so many more hits either directed or produced by Reiner.

“We have a really eclectic development slate, half-hour comedies, hour dramas, political things, period things. It’s pretty varied,” Rob Reiner told Deadline.

He also produced beloved television shows like Seinfeld. On that Rob Reiner said, “The TV business has changed dramatically since we went out with Seinfeld. You now have also streaming services and cable networks, and there is a lot of niche programming and certain type of programming for certain markets and outlets. It’s very different.”

And now comes word that Rob Reiner, Harry Shearer, Michael McKean and Christopher Guest will be reuniting for a Spinal Tap special. The foe classic rock band has been legendary since Rob Reiner’s mockumentary about them came out back in 1984. On October 14 the stars will get together for a virtual meeting in support of the Democratic Party in battleground state Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania was one of three key sates which were supposed to go to Hillary Clinton in 2016, but were flipped by Trump to give him the election.

The event will be moderated by Patton Oswalt.

With a reference to one of the most iconic lines from This Is Spinal Tap, Jason Henry, executive director of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, told The Hollywood Reporter, “Democratic enthusiasm in Pennsylvania is already turned up to eleven — we’re the Keystone State and the key to winning this election. We’re excited to partner with the Spinal Tap team to bring even more energy to power. Democratic wins from the State House to the White House.”

The director is no fan of President Trump’s. He recently tweeted, “I know the Press is trying to do its job, but there’s no point covering this President. He’s a desperate mentally ill liar trying to avoid prison. Save the ink. In 34 days we’ll have an actual President.”

And this, “It has come to this: The President of the United States is a White Supremacist.”

And before Donald Trump was diagnosed with the disease, Rob Reiner slammed his Corona Virus policies tweeting, “Donald Trump has essentially shot and killed 100s of thousands Americans on 5th Ave, continues to do it every day, and he’s right, his cult doesn’t care. But the rest of US do. In 42 days we will arrest the killer.”
