Andrew Cuomo “Threatens” President Trump

Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York threatening the President of the United States that President Donald Trump would need an army if he intends to visit New York.

This is not the first time that something like this has happened. Former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin talked about Americans using their 2nd Amendment rights to resist then-President Obama’s Policies. Early in President Clinton’s first term, the then senior Senator from South Carolina Strom Thurmond implied that members of the military in his state might be a threat to Bill Clinton’s safety should he visit there.

Things are getting a bit out of hand in America today.

The Governor stated in a telephone call, “He can’t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City. Forget bodyguards, he better have an army if he thinks he’s going to walk down the streets in New York.”

Governor Cuomo added, “He is persona non grata in New York City, and I think he knows that, and he’ll never come back to New York because New Yorkers will never forget how gratuitously mean he has been It is more of the same from him. It’s political, it is gratuitous. And it’s illegal. But it is another attempt to kill New York City.”

Governor Cuomo’s remarks came after President Trump declared that he had instructed federal agencies to investigate the defunding of four major American cities, including New York. The President claims that he is taking this action because of what he sees as lawlessness going on in these cities as a result of all of the Black Lives Matters protests.

Donald Trump released a memo saying, “My Administration will not allow Federal tax dollars to fund cities that allow themselves to deteriorate into lawless zones. To ensure that Federal funds are neither unduly wasted nor spent in a manner that directly violates our Government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property, it is imperative that the Federal Government review the use of Federal funds by jurisdictions that permit anarchy, violence, and destruction in America’s cities.”

Earlier in the day President Trump also called on CNN to fire Governor Cuomo’s brother Chris Cuomo. The CNN host is a vocal critic of the President. In a Tweet President Trump called Chris Cuomo Fredo, a nickname which Cuomo famously calls derogatory as a reference to Michael Corleone’s dim witted brother in the Godfather movies. The Tweet read: “Will Fredo be fired by Fake News @CNN? He speaks with great disrespect about women, and it will only get worse. Fredo’s Ratings are bad, so this is the time. Always terrible to speak to sleazebags, especially when you are being recorded. CNN has no choice, Fredo must go!”

In an attempt to mitigate his comments Governor Cuomo added, “My comment about the president and bodyguards in New York City, all I’m saying is that he is persona non grata in New York City. And I think he knows that. And he’ll never come back to New York, because New Yorkers will never forget how gratuitously mean he has been to New Yorkers and how many times he’s tried to kill the city that gave him his start and birthed him. That’s what I meant about the bodyguards.”
