Google Cuts YouTube Access For Iran’s Press TV And Hispan TV

The Iranian site blocked 'without any warning' after they claimed that Israel experiments on Palestinian prisoners

In light of the U.S. government tightening restrictions on the country, Google has blocked the access to Spanish-language YouTube and Gmail accounts of anti-Israel news website HispanTV, operated by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, and Iran’s Press TV.

On Thursday the two Iranian outlets have raised false accusations that Israel had been conducting new medical experiments on Palestinian prisoners.

The Iranian claimed that “Palestinians held in Israeli jails are being used as guinea pigs in new medical trials.” And that the Israeli health ministry “granted licenses to several international companies to carry out medical tests on Palestinian and Arab prisoners in Israeli prisons without their knowledge.”

In 2014, Iran announced plans to target its media influence in Latin America and launched HispanTV.

Times of Israel citing HispanTV report on their still active website denounced Google act which came ‘without any warning’. The headline reads: “Censorship of YouTube to HispanTV: The price of being the voice of the oppressed.”

Press TV reported that Google blocked their access with a message saying “your Google Account was disabled and can’t be restored because it was used in a way that violates Google’s policies.”

“Your Google Account was disabled and can’t be restored because it was used in a way that violates Google’s policies,” Google’s warning appears when opening the Hispan TV and Press TV YouTube channels.

Although their YouTube channels remain open, no new content can be published.

Google declined to comment on the reason for the blocks.
