WATCH: Billionaire Tom Steyer launches $11 Million campaign calling to Trump’s impeachment

Tom Steyer: “People in Congress and his own administration know this president is a clear and present danger who is mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons and they do nothing.”

Democrat mega-donor and environmental activist billionaire Tom Steyer announced an “eight-figure national television buy and a seven-figure digital ad buy,” (at least $11 million) national advertising campaign in which he calls for President Trump’s impeachment.

In the campaign, called “Need to Impeach,” kicked off Friday, Steyer argues that Trump is unfit for office because he has “obstructed justice” and “brought us to the brink of nuclear war,” threatened the shutdown of news organizations he does not like.

California’s liberal Steyer is considering the campaign as an investment as he weighs running against U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) in 2018 Democratic primaries— and it would attract a powerful comparison and contrast between Steyr and Feinstein.

In San Francisco event in August Feinstein has dismissed talk of impeaching Trump, saying that “this man is going to be president, most likely for the rest of this term.”

Tom Steyer says in the ad, referring to the 1998 impeachment of President Bill Clinton for lying to a grand jury about having sex with a White House intern: “A Republican Congress once impeached a president for far less. Yet today people in Congress and his own administration know this president is a clear and present danger who is mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons. And they do nothing.”

“People in Congress and his own administration know this president is a clear and present danger who is mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons,” Steyer says in the ad. “And they do nothing.”

Steyer spurs people to contact members of Congress and demand they bring up articles of impeachment.

Political analysts believe impeachment is exceedingly unlikely in a Republican-dominated Congress, except crucial new surprising facts come out about Trump.

Steyer reportedly spent $87 million on the 2016 elections and dropped millions of dollars into his NextGen Climate Action group to combat global warming.
