The former Presidential candidate appeared on the CNN program “State of the Union” Sunday morning. Bernie Sander told Jake Tapper of President Trump, “This guy is a fraud. This guy ran for president of the United States saying, ‘I, Donald Trump, I’m going to take on Wall Street — these guys are getting away with murder.’ Then suddenly, he appoints all these billionaires.”
This was in reference to how Donald Trump promised to do things differently in Washington while slamming his opponents for having ties to Wall Street firms like Goldman Sachs and then he turned around a filled his Administration with people from Wall Street.
Bernie Sanders also said that Trunp, “is a good showman, I will give you that — he is a good TV guy. But I think he is going to sell out the middle class, the working class, of this country.”
Then there was the following post which Bernie Sanders made on his Facebook page slamming President Trump’s plan to allow religious organizations engage in political campaigning without losing heir tax exempt status. “What a great idea. Let’s end the separation of church and state. Let’s convert religious organizations into political organizations,” wrote Senator Sanders.
“Let’s funnel dark money funds raised by religious organizations into political campaigns. Let’s sanction racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms of discrimination under the guise of “religious freedom.” This absurd and unconstitutional idea must not be passed by Congress.”
The Senator also praised the Federal judges who blocked Donald Trump’s executive order banning immigration from seven Muslim countries in the Middle Eats. He tweeted the following:
Friday's order by a federal judge in Seattle blocking President Trump's immigration ban was a victory for rule of law and the Constitution.

Senator Bernie Sanders had previously tweeted, “President Trump’s ban on immigrants from seven majority-Muslim countries is un-American, unconstitutional and will not make us more safe.”
And Bernie Sanders also issued a statement on his official website which read, “I was heartened by Judge Robart’s decision to halt the Trump administration’s immigration order. The administration’s executive order raises very serious constitutional questions, has thrown the enforcement of our immigration laws into chaos and further sewn divisive, xenophobic, and hateful rhetoric into our national discussion. The executive order’s religious test runs afoul of our constitutional protections and who we are as a nation. This was a good day for our system of checks and balances.”
Meanwhile Bernie Sanders has given his backing to Keith Ellison’s candidacy for chair of the Democratic National Committee. This is in spite of many Jewish leaders having criticized Congressman Ellison for being biased against Israel. The Observer quoted Senator Sanders saying, “The question is simple: Do we stay with a failed status-quo approach or do we go forward with a fundamental restructuring of the Democratic Party? I say we go forward and create a grassroots party which speaks for working people.”
If you are a fan of Bernie Sanders then you are in luck. He will take on Republican Senator Ted Cruz in a live debate Tuesday night on CNN. The two will go head to head on the future of the Affordable Care Act which Republicans have been promising to repeal for years.
It is sure to be quite entertaining. After all, the cable news channels are really more about entertainment than they are about news, aren’t they. People like Bernie Sanders always appear on them precisely because people find him so entertaining.
Bernie Sanders understands this and he obviously is planning on running for President again as he clearly knows that this is how Trump got himself elected.
