It was something out of a cold war pulp fiction thriller and the new hit TV show “The Americans.” In 2010 Anna Chapman was one of a group of Russian “sleeper” spies captured by American authorities. They had been living as Americans for years under fake identities. Chapman, as part of a deal made with the Russians, was allowed to plead guilty and then was deported to Russia.
