Earthquake in New Zealand Leaves Cows Stranded on a Tiny Piece of Grass

A massive 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck New Zealand over the weekend, leaving these poor cows stranded atop a small island of grass on a high hill left behind when the ground around them simply disappeared.

The three cows, two adult cattle and a calf, were spotted by a helicopter, but it is unclear if the cows were rescued.

The quake was strongly felt in Christchurch, but was not as damaging as the 2011 earthquake that destroyed the city and killed 185 people.
