New chairman of Israeli-Iranian owned pipeline announced

Moshe Kahlon nominates new boss of Eilat Ashkelon Pipeline Company to replace former advisor to Ariel Sharon

Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon’s chief-of-staff, Erez Halfon, will be nominated for the chairmanship of the Eilat Ashkelon Pipeline Company (EAPC).

Halfon will replace the incumbent reserve General Yossi Peled (Likud) who previously served as advisor to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and was his right-hand man during the 2005 Gaza withdrawal. He subsequently served as the chief executive officer in the Ministry of Absorption.
Half of the EAPC is under the unofficial joint proprietorship of the Israeli and Iranian governments. The company was founded in 1968 with the view to exporting gas from the Persian Gulf to various buyers in the Mediterranean.
