Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International is still the world’s busiest airport, handling 101.5 million passengers last year, according to ACI. It benefits tremendously from its strategic location as a major U.S. port of entry and connecting hub. The airport in Atlanta is within a 2-hour flight of 80 percent of the U.S. population. Dubai was the world’s busiest airport for international passengers and it came third in terms of overall passengers.
