Mariah Carey is set to make her first performance in Israel on August 18 at the Rishon Lezion Amphitheater. The news comes just a month after the singer made a personal trip to the Holy Land ahead of her marriage to billionaire boyfriend Australian James Packer. Packer is said to be close to Israeli PM Binyamin Netanyahu. The Australian even bought a home near Netanyahu’s in the Israeli seaside town of Caesarea.
Neither Carey nor Packer is Jewish, but they have stated that they feel very spiritual and came to Israel for religious counseling before they marry.
“Shalom Israel, I will be coming to see you on August 18, so come see me, ” said Carey in a video announcement.
