The physicians who operated on Joan Rivers the day she slipped into a coma last August are aggressively defending themselves against the widely publicized accusations contained in Melissa Rivers’s multi-million dollar malpractice suit.

In court papers, Gwen Korovin, MD, says she’d been invited by Lawrence Cohen, MD, to perform a transnasal laryngoscopy on Ms. Rivers at Dr. Cohen’s Yorkville Endoscopy clinic in Manhattan. Referring to the infamous “selfies” allegedly taken while Ms. Rivers was sedated, Dr. Korovin says she was “unaware of any photos being taken.”
