Preacher Franklin Graham — son of the legendary American preacher Billy Graham — is praying that U.S. Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will look to the Bible for guidance on how she will vote on the soon expected ruling by the Court on the divisive issue of same sex marriage.
It is interesting, to say the least, that a Christian preacher is praying for religious guidance for a Jew. Appointed by President Clinton, Ginsburg is the first Jewish woman to serve on the Supreme Court.

The justices of the court are currently deliberating their decisions on the issue of whether or not gay marriage is a constitutional right. If they decide that it is, all bans on same sex marriage across the U.S. would be nullified. Christian fundamentalists are, of course, opposed to this.
Graham posted the following statement on Facebook:
“I appreciate all of you who have joined me in praying for our Supreme Court Justices individually over the past five days. Today, let’s focus our prayers on Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who has served on the Court for over two decades. Those who support same-sex marriage consider her an ally in their fight to toss God’s Holy Word aside.
“As the Supreme Court continues to deliberate over the constitutionality of same-sex marriage, let’s pray that Justice Ginsburg’s eyes would be opened to the truth of Scripture and that she would not be deceived by the arguments of those who seek to impose their “new morality” on our nation.”
On the court’s other Jewish woman, Elena Kagan, he wrote:
“Last year Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan officiated at a same-sex wedding for her former law clerk. In 2013, Kagan—who was appointed in 2010 by President Obama—voted to strike down the federal Defense of Marriage Act which stated that marriage is between one man and one woman. There seems to be no doubt about how she is leaning as the nation awaits the Supreme Court’s decision on the constitutionality of same-sex marriage. Today please pray that she will see the danger of deciding to go against God’s law and standards.”
