A Shelter Island home that once belonged to the late international bestselling author Leon Uris — he wrote“Exodus” and “Trinity” — is now selling for $1.595 million, which is down from its $1.95 million price last summer.

The three-story home, at 171 D. North Ferry Road, is 3, 440 square feet. Built in 1982, it comes with four bedrooms, 3½ bathrooms, a fireplace, pool and dock — all on half an acre. The charming home, which was built by Ralph Kast, is on a gravel road outside Shelter Island Heights. It has a pool with a slide, an outdoor shower, pergola, Zen garden and meditation area overlooking the water
