Jack Black Talks About Sex Scene With James Marsden in ‘The D Train’

“In comedy, you feel like you’ve seen it all, but this was so subversive.”

Jack Black talked about James Marsden’s nude scene in the upcoming film “The D Train, ” among other things, in an interview with The New York Post. He also talked about the movie with the Los Angeles Times.

On his sex scene with Marsden, Black told the Post, “That was the scene that made me want to do the movie.”

“I was only worried that if we approached it too comedically, it could have been offensive or sort of generic, like something you’d seen before. So the only thing I was worried about was getting it right.”

About his character in the film, Black told The LA Times, “I’ve played lots of lovable losers, but Dan is a hate-able loser. It’s a pretty dark movie, but that’s what I loved about it. I’ve read so many comedies, and none of them are funny to me anymore. It’s got to be something that comes strong and hard and dark to penetrate my thick, nihilistic hide.”

Due out this Friday, “The D Train” tells the story of what happens when the head of a high school reunion committee (Black) travels to Los Angeles to track down the most popular guy (Marsden) from his graduating class and convince him to go to the reunion.

The movie also stars Jeffrey Tambor who can currently be seen in’s original series “Transparent” and James Marsden who plays the class’ most popular guy Oliver Lawless. After the movie’s Sundance debut Marsden said, “In comedy, you feel like you’ve seen it all, but this was so subversive.” That was in reference to a twist in the film which we will not give away.

“The D Train” was written and directed by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul. Paul said, “James Marsden, we just wanna warn you, is so good-looking in this movie!
