Sara Netanyahu’s Rageaholic Phone Wartime Dis of Bombarded City Mayor Made Public

Sara Netanyahu

The transcript of a secretly recorded phone call of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife, Sara, attacking the former Sderot mayor Eli Moyal for badmouthing Bibi’s handling of the war in Gaza last summer was published Saturday night by Ma’ariv.

Sderot, the largest town near the Gaza border, was hit heavily by rockets and mortars during that war. In July, Moyal went on television to demanded Netanyahu’s resignation for his failure to protect his town.

Hours after the broadcast, Sara Netanyahu, known for throwing tantrum at individuals who cross her, called up Moyal’s wife, Monique Ben Melech, and let her have it:

“Does anyone in the country want anyone else other than Bibi? Huh?!” Mrs. Netanyahu opened. “Someone in this entire country?! They admire Benjamin Netanyahu the entire world over!

“This man took all of the State of Israel on his shoulders. He sends soldiers to war, he behaves with rare political wisdom, speaks with leaders all the time! Benjamin Netanyahu! Extensive education, university degrees. He reads books, understands the economy, security, policy, he knows how to speak with leaders of the world.

“Where is your man? He doesn’t even reach my husband’s ankles. What, did Eli Moyal ever speak once with leaders of the world?! Did he ever do something in his life? He wasn’t even accepted on the Likud Ballot.

“I receive such admiration when I’m seen, I can’t walk the street, hundreds of people come up to me, they all send my husband love, they tell me he is a giant of a prime minister. And I go to bereaved families, look them in the eye, I do things, and the nation loves me. Just now I returned from a crowded meeting at the synagogue and everyone hugged me and the prime minister!

“It’s a shame, I have to say, I hear those voices. There’s no one in the world who would say Eli Moyal is right, no one!

“There’s a limit to the insolence, after all. My husband does very important things. This war is far more important than Operation Cast Lead. There is heavy fighting in tunnels and urban areas. I go to bereaved families, not Eli Moyal!!! I need to look into the eyes of the mothers that have sent their children into battle! I cry with them!

“So to sit like Eli and spout nonsense, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about! So you did’t vote for [Netanyahu], so now you’re jealous, jealous, jealous, jealous, jealous of him!

“After all, he will never be Bibi Netanyahu. Never! Many want to be the prime minister, but they are not capable. Would anyone in the nation want someone other than Bibi? Anyone in this entire country? Everyone in the world admires Benjamin Netanyahu! What’s wrong with [Moyal]? What a crazy ego blast!!! Whom does the nation want as prime minister? You? Eli Moyal? He won’t last one minute with these things, not one minute!”

The rant went on and on, depicting the PM’s wife as a self indulgent, myopic, rageaholic, who might actually pose a danger to Netanyahu’s ability to function as prime minister of Israel.
