Jeffrey Epstein’s Teen Prostitute Discredited in 1998 Rape Case

Virginia Roberts’ attorney insists her client is reliable, and the 1998 case was dropped due to lack of evidence

Virginia Roberts, the woman who accuses of billionaire and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein for forcing her to have sex with Prince Andrew, Alan Dershowitz, and other high-profile figures while she was still a minor leveled accusations against two men for rape in 1998, but was not found credible, as reported by the Daily News.

In 1998, the then 14 year old Roberts claimed that two older boys sexually assaulted her in a car in Palm Beach Florida, but the defendants claimed that the sex acts the three engaged in while under the influence of pot and booze were consensual. A social worker at a group home reported the incident when it was told to her, and Roberts’ mother pushed for an investigation. Her mother told the detective, according to the Daily Mail, “about her daughters’ past drug abuse and also how many kids in Royal Palm Beach are involved in drugs, witchcraft and animal sacrifice.”

While the case didn’t seem to involve witchcraft or animal sacrifice, Sigrid McCawley, Roberts’ attorney, said it was inappropriate to dredge up this matter, since the issue of credibility didn’t hinge on whether Roberts was reliable, but the chances were slim of establishing for certain whether or not she was assaulted against her will, “For the prosecutors to describe her as not credible means only that they did not think they had sufficient evidence to win. But she was raped.” McCawley added, “Blaming a girl, who at age 14 had been sexually abused, and who finally went to the police for help, is both wrong and hurtful. Despite the efforts of her critics, she will not be silenced.”
