Watch: Bill O’Reilly Not Sorry to See Jon Stewart Go

“I think Jon Stewart is a tremendous talent and his talent should be admired and he should be praised. But that’s not what this is about, “

Not everyone is sorry to see Jon Stewart step down from the host’s chair of the Daily Show. One person in particular who is happy to see Stewart retire is Bill O’Reilly.

No one should be surprised that someone from Fox News is no fan of Stewart’s. The Daily Show made it its mission to attack the cable news channel on practically a daily basis. While Stewart did go after other news channels when they got their facts wrong or failed to report on the truly important stories, Fox News was clearly his favorite target.

When not going after the channel’s paid contributors who appear on its shows as regular guests, Stewart attacked its anchors like Megan Kelly and Sean Hannity.

But Stewart did seem to have at least an amicable relationship with Bill O’Reilly who appeared as a guest on The Daily Show many times.

This is why the man with the comments made by the man with the best ratings at Fox news last night came as such a surprise to many.

O’Reilly was peeved at how what he calls the mainstream liberal media reacted to Stewart’s announcement. He felt that they were far too enamored of Stewart in their regrets at seeing him go. This was especially true of the anchors at MSNBC who particularly hate Fox News.

So what did O’Reilly say exactly? First he compared his own show to what Stewart does. Then he mused that he would never get the same treatment that Stewart got should O’Reilly announce his retirement.

His guests, of course, sang his praises and pointed to the fact that O’Reilly has had much higher ratings than Stewart.

“I think Jon Stewart is a tremendous talent and his talent should be admired and he should be praised. But that’s not what this is about, ” O’Reilly said. “[It] proves that the national press and the commentators on television and media and print are overwhelmingly liberal.”

“He’s their soulmate, ” O’Reilly added.

So according to a Fox News Host how the media reacted to Jon Stewart announcing that he would be stepping down from the Daily Show revealed a liberal bias in the press. What else is new?
