The new television show will be developed by Media Rights Capital. The independent studio also makes the hugely successful “House of Cards” series for Netflix.

The hour long show has not been picked up by any network as of yet and could either end up on cable or be live streamed by a service such as Netflix.

Usually when a famous actor goes into television after a successful film career it is a sign that his movie career is over. This was the case with Burt Reynolds in the 90’s and when Charlie Sheen replaced Michael J. Fox on “Spin City.” Sheen later went on to star on another hit show, “Two and a Half Men.”

So you might be thinking that this means that Stiller’s movie career is waning too, especially after the critics panned his last “Night at the Museum” movie which did not do so well at the box office.

Well you would be wrong.

Stiller is already working on the sequel to “Zoolander” and is planning a sequel to “Dodgeball” as well.

“Zoolander 2” is set to film in Italy. Stiller and the mayor of Rome have announced that the movie will spend 12 weeks shooting scenes there.

It has been 14 years since audiences were first introduced to the stupid but lovable male model Derek Zoolander.

Stiller commented on his plans for the sequel a few years ago saying, ““It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe. I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s basically Derek and Hansel ten years later – though the last movie ended on a happy note, a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them.”

“Zoolander 2” does not yet have an expected release date or even year.
