UK Ruling Out Naked Marriage Ceremonies

British Justice Secretary Chris Grayling has denied reports his office is planning to allow nudist weddings.

The Daily Mail ran a story a week ago, with the headline: “And the bride wore… nothing! Nude weddings may be legalized in rethink of marriage laws that could also allow couples to marry in their own home.”

(Yes, you’re probably thinking, that’s not a headline, that’s the whole story, but the Mail has been running these headlines since the days its copies had to fight for shoppers’ attention at the supermarket checkout lines.)

The move to reform the wedding law in the first place came after PM David Cameron’s introduction of same-sex marriage. That 2013 legislation also suggested Government would examine other changes in the way marriages are conducted in the UK.

And so, among groups expressing an interest in changing the wedding laws was British Naturism, representing many thousands of pale white British sun worshippers, who have been campaigning for ever in favor of outdoor nudism.

Secretary of State for Justice Chris Grayling was asked by Andrew Neil on the show Sunday Politics about the Daily Mail story, and denied the whole thing. Would the government allow naked weddings? Grayling said: “Not as far as I’m aware, and I’ve certainly no intention of doing so.”

Grayling added: “It hasn’t been ordered by me. There’s a difference between someone expressing an interest, and it actually happening. At the moment, we are looking at the issue of Humanist marriage, which has been reviewed. No nude marriage right now as far as I’m concerned.”

You heard the man, everybody, brides, groom, put your knickers back on and say your vows.
