Paul Rudd already has his post Ant-Man project lined up. His next movie will be based on Jonathan Evison’s bestseller, “The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving.”
The son of British Jewish immigrants who was born in New Jersey will star in the film which is written and directed by Rob Burnet, the producer of David Letterman’s Late Show.

The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Jonathan Evison. In it Rudd will play the main character Ben Benjamin who, after losing his family, forms a new bond with a young adult suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Filming is expected to begin this year and the movie should be released sometime in 2016.
Rudd has also opened up about how he felt upon learning that Ant-Man’s original director Edgar Wright had left the film. “It all happened pretty quickly. Edgar called me, and then it was just out in all the trades. It was a bit of a whirlwind, to say the least, ” the actor told Entertainment Weekly.
“Well, I mean, there are lots of things that go through your mind, ” Rudd said. “There are certain things I can and can’t do, and then there also certain things I will and won’t say. But I was devastated, you know.”
Wright left the project after the studio handed him a rewritten script without even consulting the director first about the changes.
“It somewhat happened organically, ” Rudd said of Wright’s exit. “When Edgar left, they were talking about directors and I knew Adam and Adam’s brilliant. So he came in to meet with them. He and I had some ideas and so we spent some time rewriting it and wound up doing a rewrite on the whole thing. All of a sudden, this took on a whole new life and was much more intensive that I had maybe anticipated. I’ve actually found myself in these kinds of situations before—maybe not quite on this level, but not far off—where all of a sudden you’re writing scenes and taking on writing responsibilities. And that’s okay. But it’s a little strange writing something that’s really, truly out of my comfort zone. I wouldn’t know how to begin to write [something like this], but sometimes you just hit the ground running, I guess. Thankfully Adam was there.”
