Israel’s Expanding Orthopedics Inc. signs Multi-Million Deal for its Spinal Surgery Device

Expanding Orthopedics

Israel’s Expanding Orthopedics Inc. (EOI), a privately held medical device company focused on developing and commercializing innovative expandable devices for spine surgery, has signed a multi-million dollar agreement with Trout Medical, owned by spine industry veteran Mr. Brad Rummer, to distribute its FLXfit 3D expandable cage in Texas.

The FLXfit is an expandable, articulated interbody fusion device (IBFD) used in conjunction with supplemental fixation to provide structural stability in skeletally mature individuals following total or partial disentomb, the surgical removal of a herniated disc.

This will allow for much faster recovery times after back surgeries and is yet another example of Israeli companies taking the forefront of medical technologies innovations.

Mr. Brad Rummer said, “This new formed relationship with EOI is exciting as they have the ability and pipeline to release additional differentiated products to market as the FLXfit.”

He explained that “the FLXfit gets into the US market at the best possible timing. Expandable cages are the fastest growing spine segment and provide a strong opportunity for a product like the FLXfit to create significant impact. It offers an ‘all in one’ solution for patients undergoing fusion surgery including MIS capability, great footprint, large bone graft chamber, smooth insertion & placement, and unique lordotic expansion designed to correct the sagittal balance.” Brad, who has been selling spine devices throughout his life, mentioned that “what matters to the surgeon, besides the great clinical benefits that the FLXfit could offer, are the ease of use and the critical ability of not only stabilizing the spine, but really correcting the patient’s spinal anatomy.”

Ofer Bokobza, CEO of Expanding Orthopedics, said that “I am happy to welcome Brad to the EOI family and excited that he is the first to represent the FLXfit™ product in the US.” Ofer added that “It was crucial to identify a strong strategic partner for a large and important state as Texas. Brad has over 25 years of successful experience selling spine devices and he is well respected in the industry. I am confident that Brad and his team would drive the product to a fast and successful adoption as the new standard of care in Texas.”
