Bette Midler to Apologize to Ariana Grande over Slutty Outfit Comment

Bette Midler

Bette Midler, known for her exuberant sexiness for decades, missed the opportunity to apologize for criticizing Ariana Grande’s slutty outfits when she had to cancel presenting the young singer with the Rising Star Award due to illness, as reported by Yibada. The Divine Miss M gave Grande a slam for her revealing clothing, and even offered, in addition to a face to face (and whatever else is showing) apology, to present her with Billboard’s Rising Star Award.

Midler had to back out because of an illness and Grande’s brother Frankie gave his sis the award in her place. Grande took the allegations that she was a “Problem” singer in kinky dress in good stride, but mentioned on Twitter that Bette Midler was once an open minded feminist who didn’t judge the content of a woman’s character by her state of undress. Everyone wanted to see the two kiss and make up on the program and there must have been a collective “awww” emitted when it was announced the Divine Miss M couldn’t make it.

If Bette Midler wasn’t feeling well, maybe it was better she stayed away, because Grande has recently said she likes to be carried around like an infant when she doesn’t feel like walking. The “Break Free” singer actually has staff carry her to rehearsals when she can’t be bothered to walk, and so perhaps Bette Midler was maybe not too ill to show, but wasn’t up to carrying Grande if she would happen to collapse with emotional exhaustion during their make up hug.
