Barry Diller May Cash in Big on Dating Sites

11th Annual Friends Of The High Line Party And Summer Dinner

Just when people were getting tender over Tinder, the online dating site, she might get a break up announcement, along with Match.com, according to the Street.com

Barry Diller, CEO IAC Interactive, is seeing success with his dating app Tinder, which has yet to be profitable, and he might spin off his bigger site, Match.com, as daily users may reach 20 million and monthly users may top 40 million

Match.com alone may be worth $5.3 billion, worth much more than many of IAC’s websites, which include About.com and Ask.com.

Tinder alone could be worth $1.1 billion by the end of 2015, said Barclays analyst Chris Merwin. A Match.com spinoff would be profitable for IAC head Diller, who could invest the money into sites like Vimeo, which has grown revenues by 30% this year.
