Hulu Founder Jason Kilar Attacks YouTube With Vessel

Vessel

Ex CEO and founder of Hulu Jason Kilar plans to give YouTube  run for its money with a new service called Vessel, which may be launched in a month, as reported by Advertising Age. Kilar plans to sign artists and video content providers on year long contracts which stipulate they must show their videos first on Hulu, and after 72 hours, can display them elsewhere on the web.

Vessel will have a free tier and special services for subscribers. It will have advertisements, with some options for customers to choose what ad they want to watch. Premium advertisers will have their ads shown on the subscriber-only service. Vessel will have a desktop and mobile site and will also launch apps.
