It is compatible with VBox Communications’ TV Gateway, which receives broadcast TV signals from terrestrial, cable and satellite sources and converts them to IP at the consumer’s home. The device then simultaneously streams multiple high quality broadcast TV channels across the home network to any connected (UPnP) device, such as a Smart TV, tablet, PC, Mac, smartphone, Android set-top box, game console, iPhone and iPad. Additionally, the Gateway serves as a whole-house-DVR/PVR and allows users to record live HDTV on removable or network storage.

“Our customers love to record live TV with their TV Gateways and now they can take their recordings with them and watch their favorite programs as they are on the train, commuting to work or let their kids watch TV while driving in the car, without using the internet or data plan and in full broadcast quality, ” said Amir Aharonovich, VP of Marketing for VBox Communications.

Aharnovich explained to JBN, ”We try to change how TV is distributed within the household by converting broadcasts to an IP at a customer’s home, in a way competing with Tivo, but our solution is open meaning you can connect any network device with a screen to your TV gateway and watch it, also we are like a home TV router similar to an internet router. We are a whole house DVR. You can access our app program guide from any mobile device and even an internet browser.”

VBox Communications’ family of TV Gateways enhances the TV watching experience by bringing live and recorded TV to all connected devices in the home. VBox Communications has been developing quality digital TV broadcast equipment for leading broadcast providers, enterprises, governments and customers worldwide since 2001.
