Liev Schreiber Says Showbiz Can Do More to Combat Gun Violence

Liev Schreiber

Liev Schreiber, along with Katie Kouric and Gina Gershon, attended the Jim Brady Awards in Gotham Hall. Jim Brady was President Reagan’s press secretary and was shot during an assassination attempt on President Reagan. Badly wounded by the attack, Jim Brady founded the Brady  Center to prevent gun violence. Jim Brady passed away in August, and the event was meant to commemorate his life and work.

Noting the irony of his wildly popular Showtime series Ray Donovan, about a man who “takes care of business” for the rich and famous of Hollywood when they get into various fixes, Page Six quoted Schreiber as saying show business can do more to prevent gun violence; “All of us in the entertainment sector can do more, say more, act more, write more and direct more to ensure that our children and our children’s children never have to imagine explaining something as inconceivable as Sandy Hook to their 5-year olds.”
