‘Michael Jackson Drug’ May Have Killed Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers

While questions remain over the death of 81 year old comedic legend Joan Rivers, some think the cause of her death might have been malpractice. Rivers was having surgery on her vocal chords, but some say that she didn’t experience cardiac arrest during the surgery, but when she was sedated. There are claims that Rivers was given Propofol prior to her heart attack, the same drug blamed for the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. One staff member even referred to Propofol as the “Michael Jackson drug.”

The Department of Health in New York State is launching investigations into Rivers’ death and is looking at Yorkville Endoscopy, where Rivers went into cardiac arrest. Doctors attempted to put a tube in her throat and perform CPR to get her to breathe again, but efforts at that point proved to be too little too late.

One major problem for the clinic is that the ear, nose and throat doctor was not officially authorized to perform medicine at the clinic. The gastroenterologist was the one who got this doctor involved in the procedure, but the former was cleared of wrongdoing.

The Yorkville clinic denied applying local anaesthesia. “A biopsy of vocal chords has never been performed at Yorkville. General anaesthesia has never been administered.”
