Bernard Madoff’s only surviving son, Andrew, died Wednesday of cancer at age 48, according to his attorney.

Andrew Madoff, surrounded by his still living family members who are not behind bars, died at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, where he received treatment for mantle cell lymphoma, attorney Martin Flumenbaum said in a statement.

Funeral arrangements will not be publicized.

Madoff’s death came three months short of four years after his older brother, Mark, hanged himself in his lower Manhattan apartment.

The Madoff boys and their father stole $17 billion from thousands of people, many of them Jews, who trusted them.

Bernard Madoff, 76, is serving 150 years in federal prison. No idea where his wife, Ruth, may be.

Karma is such a bitch.

Both Andrew and Mark worked in their dad’s company, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities. Many angry investors suspected the brothers of stealing right alongside their father, the boys denied any knowledge of the scam, and neither was ever charged with a crime.

“It just never occurred to me that it was all fake, ” the late Andrew Madoff said in a 2011 interview.
