Piers Morgan Leaves CNN as if His Departure Is their Loss

Planet Dailies And Mixology 101 Grand Opening

No one is really certain what happened between CNN head Jeff Zucker and newscaster Piers Morgan, but on Twitter he claims Zucker was practically begging him not to leave. Piers Morgan, in 2011, took the 9 pm news slot, replacing “Larry King Live.” Many think the real story is the Piers Morgan Live was receiving falling ratings, and Chelsea Handler said he was a “terrible interviewer.”

On Twitter, Piers Morgan made it sound as if Jeff Zucker was desperate to keep the host. Morgan wrote: “I was offered a 2 year deal by CNN boss Jeff Zucker to host 40 big interview specials. But after considerable thought, I decided not to accept it and to try pastures new.” While he complimented Zucker and said he enjoyed his time at CNN, he wrote, “They can’t afford me.”
