Kornit Allegro

Israel’s Kornit Digital Printing, an eco-friendly company, has developed its own inks. The company takes pride in not only providing a safe product, but also a safe work environment for its employees.

On their commitment to environmental standards, Kornit’s executive VP of marketing Guy Zimmerman told Jewish Business news: “We operate in textile digital tech and our tech eliminates some of the most water consuming processes and the working environment is completely safe and our garments are completely safe to wear. Part of our vision is to increase the safety and reliability of textile products. That is the major value in the service that we provide.

“There is an initiative of Greenpeace called Detox where they test both the fabrics and production processes of major brands and publish alarming reports on their content. Our technology of ink and machines comply with the strictest environmental standards. We are approved by all of the standard agencies in this regard.”

Kornit uses its own invention, the trademarked NeoPigment inks, which are formulated, tested and produced in their own ink factory. In this way, they are able to monitor, control and maintain quality levels. Their water based inks are entirely organic, 100% non-toxic, vegan friendly – they contain no animal byproducts – and are safe for infants and young children.

The ink is compatible with all types of fabric, including 100% cotton, any cotton polyester blends, Lycra, Viscose, Microfiber, Linen, leather and synthetic leather, satin, canvas, silk, velvet, and PVC.

The company also produces its own line of high-speed DTG printers they say are the first industrial digital printers offering direct to garment printing. Kornit states that it is “revolutionizing” the industry with their single step solution that enables printing with one ink set on all types of fabric and with no additional finishing process.

Kornit developed a unique and patented printing method. Immediately before printing, their PreT system, which is integrated into their machines, sprays the Kornit Wetting Solution on a garment. During the curing process, a chemical reaction occurs between the ink and the Wetting Solution. After the curing, the Wetting Solution evaporates off of the garment.

The company’s technology can be used on all sorts of clothing such as, shoes, beach and swim wear, and t shirts.

Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Rosh-Ha`Ayin, Israel, Kornit Digital develops, manufactures and markets industrial and commercial printing solutions for the garment, apparel and textile industries.

In October 2005, it launched its first two products: the Kornit Storm and Kornit Thunder.
