Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur General Manager Manfred Weber received the Platinum Award for 5-Star Hotel for the hotel from Minister of Federal Territories Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad Phesal Haji Taib presented Mr. Weber the Platinum Award for Fine Dining Restaurant for the hotels French restaurant, Lafite.

The occasion was graced by Her Majesty, the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah.
